From the National Weather Service, Little Rock, just before 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9:

A strong cold front will approach Arkansas over the next 24-36 hours. A risk of severe weather and some locally heavy rainfall will accompany the front, mainly across western portions of the state.

What: Severe weather and locally heavy rainfall possible.

When: Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.

Where: Primarily western Arkansas.

Impacts: Damaging wind gusts of 60 mph or greater along with the threat for a few tornadoes. Rainfall up to 3 inches.
