Maria Van Buren chapter of DAR will meet at 1 p.m. March 8 at Simmons Bank in Clinton. Members are asked to be there early to help set up the potluck lunch. Sue Thompson, past state regent and the Little Red River DAR will be special guests. Thompson will give a two-hour workshop on Development and Revitalization.

The Dirty Farmers Community Market is planning a Stone Soup reading event at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at the market on Main Street in downtown Clinton. Participants are encouraged to bring a vegetable, and at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, the market is sponsoring a potluck that will feature a soup made from the offerings.

Parkinson Support Meeting will be 2 p.m. March 6 at the Fairfield Bay Baptist Church. Lydia Stevens, state coordinator for Parkinson’s will be the quest speaker. Everyone is welcome.

The White River Area Agency on Aging board of directors will hold its quarterly meeting at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, in the Independence Hall on the campus of the University of Arkansas Community College, 2005 White Drive, Batesville.

There will be a book-signing at 3 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014, at the Van Buren County Library for Tony Cuttone, author of Insider Stories from the Chicago Police Force & Others. Cuttone is a veteran of the Chicago Police Force and the Cook County sheriff’s office who now lives in Van Buren County.
