There will be a community singing at the Burnt Ridge Church at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9. A potluck will follow.

A free community dinner will be offered at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Evening Shade Church, 3 miles west on Highway 254, Dennard. The dinner is hosted by Faith Baptist Church. Donations for Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen are welcome.

Jody Parsons will be the guest speaker at the Clinton Area Rotary Club’s Nov. 6 meeting. Parsons republished Waymon Hogue’s 1932 book Back Yonder, which details his youth in Van Buren County from 1870-90. The club meets at noon at Western Sizzlin in Clinton.

The Red Cross Blood Drive comes to town next Thursday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Chemo Infusion Room at Ozark Health Medical Center in Clinton.

The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts will hold its first Humanities Day from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, Nov. 9. Eighth- through 10th-grade students will have the opportunity to participate in two language classes where they will be introduced to Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. Maria Van Buren Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 1 p.m. Nov. 9 at Simmons Bank in Clinton. There will be a potluck and afterward the members will place flowers and flags at the memorial wall and Courthouse in honor of all veterans.

November’s 2nd Saturday event at the Kellebrew Theater in downtown Leslie will feature Alan Guthrie and Family and Friends. Music starts at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 and all proceeds go toward upkeep of the Ozark Heritage Center.

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4513, Fairfield Bay will hold its annual Craft Fair from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at 2531 Highway 330 South, about 1/2-mile north of The New Road and Highway 330 intersection. Admission is free. Proceeds from the sale help the VFW and auxiliary support veterans.

The Ozark Health Auxiliary will hold its annual bazaar from 7-4 p.m. daily Thursday, Nov. 7, and Friday, Nov. 8, in the hospital conference room.
