Education centers expand hours

North Central Career Center Adult Education has announced it has expanded hours at both the Leslie and Clinton centers.

They started opening classes to students on Fridays. This expansion began Aug. 20, 2012. The current hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. On Tuesdays and Thursday nights, the hours are 4-7 p.m. The centers aim to help anyone who needs a GED, assistance obtaining a job, entering post-secondary education or college, and career development assistance. All classes provided by adult education centers are free. The GED test will cost over $100 beginning Jan. 1, 2014, so students should complete their GEDs now while this service is still free. The centers also have distance learning classes available for those who qualify.
