The National Judicial College in Reno, Nev., announces that the Honorable Susan Weaver of the 9th District Court in Faulkner and Van Buren counties has completed Impaired Driving Case Essentials, a course held Aug. 12-15, 2013, at the college.

After this course participants are able to recognize the scope of the drugged driving problem and define impairment as it relates to drugged driving; analyze under what circumstances a police officer can legally stop a vehicle and detain the driver; determine when, how and under what circumstances the police can lawfully search drivers, passengers and automobiles; and define addiction and its elements.

Weaver was nominated by the Arkansas Administrative Office of the Courts to receive a scholarship to attend this course.
