Join the Little Red River Audubon Society at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Little Red Restaurant at Indian Hills in Fairfield Bay as they illustrate how their organization raises funds for excellent science initiatives, including the Halberg Ecology Camp for kids, the Little Rock Zoo’s “Creature Feature” right here in the community, the Great Bird Seed Sale, and the Student Essay Contest.
The Foothills Trail Alliance meeting will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Western Sizzlin in Clinton. Join us as we explore the construction and upkeep of trails in our community. There will be discussion of mountain bike and hiking trails and all things related. Everyone welcome.

The 10th Annual Emergency Responders Dinner will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Clinton High School cafeteria. Register for adult education classes at the UACCM’s Adult Education Clinton site. Classes will be held Monday evenings 4:30-7 p.m. beginning Feb. 5, through March 12, at the Van Buren County Library. Take advantage of this free six-week program of adult education classes. One day per week, evening classes with individualized instruction to enhance your basic skills, and/or prepare for the GED exam. Must be 18 years of age or older. The GED exam costs $16 and may be scheduled after completion of the program. Upon earning a GED, recipients will receive a free three-hour-credit tuition waiver to UACCM.

The Clinton Chamber of Commerce will host its annual banquet Tuesday, March 13, in the Clinton High School cafeteria. The Sixth Annual Hunger Run will be Saturday, March 31, in historic downtown Clinton. This certified 5K Run/Walk is hosted by Van Buren County food banks. The Hunger Run is open to all ages and levels of experience as a fun family event with music, food and refreshments, prizes, and more. The race is chip timed with a mat start and arch finish, traffic control, pit stops, and medals for the top five finishers in every age group of runners and walkers, plus overall finishers.
