Carl and Wanda Coleman will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house in their honor, Saturday August 12, 3 to 5 p.m. at the Scotland School Cafeteria, in Scotland. All friends and relatives are invited.

Wanda was born in Merced, Calif. and Carl was born and raised in Scotland, Ark. Wanda moved to Clinton in 1965 and the two were introduced by very good friends Barbara (Medlock) Godfrey and Margaret (Medlock) Housley. The Coleman’s were married in Las Vegas, Nev. August 14,, 1967.

They made their home in Scotland were Carl worked at the sawmill and Wanda a homemaker. As years went on and they started their family, Carl became a heavy equipment operator and Wanda was employed at the Beldon Cord plant where she retired after 16 years.

They are parents of two daughters Kimberly (Coleman) Bradley of Shirley, Ark. and Rita (Coleman) Ward of Mountain View, Ark. They have 6 grandchildren: Brandy (Bradley) Cullum, Gwendlyn Bradley, Ali Bradley, Derek Bradley, Lance Ward and Luke Ward.
