As of Monday, April 10, the steering committee for the Village Gardens and the Hot Springs Village Property Owners’ Association have agreed to discontinue the Village Gardens Project, the POA announced last Wednesday morning in a press release.
“This action is due to the lack of a viable property location that meets the criteria of the proposed Village Gardens and its support facilities,” the release said. “The steering committee would like to thank the Hot Springs Village residents and local businesses that have enthusiastically supported this venture.
“The outpouring support of funds as well as the genuine excitement that has surrounded this project makes this announcement particularly difficult for our committee. It would have been a great honor for us to bring this unique amenity to the Village residents,” says Bob DeVinney, chair of the steering committee for the Village Gardens, the release said.
“In the next few weeks, the steering committee will be returning funds to all of those that donated so generously to the project,” the release said.
