A survival flight training class and info session will be hosted by the volunteer fire department, Thursday, 6:30 p.m., in the Alread Cafeteria on Hwy 16 West. This is part of the new med flight plan being developed for the area. It’s free and open to community members.

The Senior Night Potluck in the Crabtree Foursquare old sanctuary kitchen is Friday at 5:30 p.m. This month’s theme is “something with bacon.” Sounds like a crowd pleaser. Fun and games will follow.

There will be a workday at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, near Alread, on Saturday. Bring your tools and lunch. Start time is when you get there.

A wedding shower for Nathan Teague and Allison Ragland will be held in the community room of the Crabtree Foursquare Church on Sunday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Also at the church, It’s Youth Night Monday beginning at 4 p.m.

Had a call regarding another Sasquatch sighting out this way. We had info about this matter here in the Crabtree News, with photo, a few months ago. The caller said it’s not the same one as it is smaller and possibly female. So guess I’ll be taking a road trip and hopefully have more details for you next week.

“Blooms of Note” going on now: Solomon seal, green dragon, fairy wand, false unicorn, native rhododendron, Missouri primrose, red clover, and roses.

One more bloom of note deserving attention is wild blackberry. Old timers call the last cold snap of the season “blackberry winter” since wild blackberries are usually in bloom when it happens. Well they are blooming and we did have a return to the cool this past weekend. So maybe the head long rush into summer weather patterns is about to begin.

If you have info about the greater Crabtree and 16 West community call or text Jeff Burgess, 745-1249.
