Shortly after Saturday’s rain, the City of Damascus released a statement regarding the need for a boil order: “The Damascus water system has experienced several water lines washing away in the floods last [Saturday] night. Areas affected are Peavine creek cove, Cash Springs, Castleberry, Cedar Hill, Spears, Sugar Maple, 300 block and greater on W Republican, and Hwy 285 south of W Republican.”
The announcement continued that it would be “at least 24 to 36 hours before these lines will be reinstated and then the areas affected will be under a boil order for at least 3 days after that.”
Tuesday morning, May 2, the City of Damascus Clerk Pam Mahan, in an Email, stated the boil order is expected to continue until Friday based on current understanding. Anyone on Damascus water service with questions may call the water department at 501-335-8035 with any questions.
