Kids from the Middle Fork 4-H Club in Shirley and the Shirley PTSA are conducting a fundraiser to help with their projects. As part of the fund-raising effort they are holding two raffles: 1) a 52 x 52 inch lap quilt and a pair of Partridge Cochin Bantam chickens (these are the cute little copper-colored chickens with the fluffy pantaloons and feathery feet). There are two pair of young chickens, so there will be two winners. The drawing will take place Saturday, June 3 during the Shirley Homecoming at the 4-H tent at 3 p.m.or shortly after the Homecoming Parade. Raffle tickets sell for $1 each or six for $5. Tickets can be purchased that Saturday at the 4-H tent, at Regions Bank in Fairfield Bay, Carters Hardware Store, Shirley Red River Market, We’re Stitchin’ & Printin’ in Shirley or call Ginny Stone at 1-479-747-1353. 4-H leader, Ginny Kimmons-Stone and PTSA president, Ashley Tackett-Harper stated that the kids will also hold carnival games, sell balloons and offer lemonade during the Homecoming event to boost their bank accounts.
