Alread’s Annual Fireworks Celebration will be on July 1 this year. The show will be held at the Alread Fun Park, and there will be a potluck beforehand, starting at 6 p.m., so please bring a dish or two, some chairs or a blanket, and have a great time! There are t-shirts available for purchase to help support this annual event. Please note that the show is free for everyone to attend, but costs thousands of dollars to put on each year. Waymon Bruce loves to give back to his community in this way, and it’s truly the best fireworks show around. Anyone who wants to donate for this annual event is very welcome to do so, and all contributions are very gratefully received.
On July 28, ACCDA will be hosting a Salad Supper Fundraiser at the Alread Cafeteria from 6 to 8 p.m. There is no charge, but all donations are very gratefully accepted. There will be a wide variety of salads available, and the atmosphere and fellowship at ACCDA dinners is always really nice.
The next evening, on July 29, there will be a Dinner and Bingo Night at the Alread EH Clubhouse. Dinner will start at 5:30 p.m. There is no charge for the dinner, but donations are always very gratefully accepted and bingo is always a lot of fun! You’ll need to bring cash for your bingo cards. There will be more great prizes this time!
The Alread EH Club’s exercise program, Get Fit, meets in the EH Club building every MWF from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Admission is free. A weekly quilting class meets every Thursday from 9 to about 1. The Alread Fire Department has been getting new volunteers and I salute you all! If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the chief, Elias Watson: 501-253-1869.
