In a press release dated June 30, Soaring Eagle Camp announced its purchase of the Higher Ground Retreat Center, 4772 Highway 110, in Clinton, shown on the map to be just east of Botkinburg.

The facility’s web page shows its focus to be: “A non-denominational Christian camp for children, youth, families and church groups to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and facilitate renewal and strength while experiencing God’s creation through camps, retreats and conferences.”

The camp has already begun its first summer season and will be hosting Camp Good News, facilitated by the Arkansas Chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship, from July 10 - 14 for area children ages 8-12. Cost for the camp will be $15 daily (some scholarships are available) and will include games, activities, prizes, and lunch. Camp begins at 9 a.m. daily and concludes at 3 p.m. each afternoon.

Campers attending every day will receive a backpack full of school supplies at the close of camp, and a cookout for camper’s families will be held.
