Thursday is the last day to give blood and still be eligible for the October 10 Alread Drive. Saturday is Recycling Day, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Alread cafeteria.
A couple bears climb a neighbour’s front porch stairs and hand rail to get the sugar water in her hummingbird feeding. After three destroyed feeders she is ready to quit helping the “hummers”.
Returning from vacation I found my blueberry bushes loaded for harvest. Woe to procrastination as two days later the berries were gone and my protective bird netting was tangled on the nearby garden fence. On the upside, found wild blackberries still producing good berries. If the rains come there will be even more.
