Fall is in the air and there’s plenty of things to do in Historic downtown Shirley. Vintage cars, trucks and hot rods will fill the Shirley Community Center parking lot on Oct. 14 for the Third Annual Harvest Fest Car Show, registration 8 - 10a.m., judging at Noon. The car show is free to enter and any car buff can enter. Prizes will be awarded at 2 p.m., with trophies, cash and lots of door prizes.

Also on that day is our Super Sale Saturday.Yard sales will fill the streets and in the historic old city buildings we will be having a fundraiser to “Save the Old Bank Building”. Donations can be dropped off anytime. What a fun way to spend the day with family, friends and neighbors.

Boo Bash has been in the works for sometime now and again we will fill the streets of downtown with spooks and goblins for a fun night of trick or treating. The fun begins at 6 -8 p.m. The streets will be blocked for safety and everything will be FREE. Candy, hot dogs, sodas, prizes, cupcakes, Also kids games and fun for the whole family. Please animal mom’s leave your four legged babies at home. little goblins may scare them and we don’t want any mishaps.
