A Van Buren County woman is currently being held on two charges of rape and a charge of sexual indecency with a child in two separate events.

The woman, Hannah Rhodes, who just turned 20, was named in two arrest affidavits, one for a late-July interaction with an underage young man. The sheriff’s department was made aware of this in late August and brought Rhodes in for an interview Aug. 24. Shortly after the interview with Rhodes began she ended her conversation with the department investigator and refused to take a polygraph, the arrest affidavit states.

A second charge came shortly thereafter when the investigator was told of a November event between an underage young man and Rhodes. An investigator, according to the affidavit, spoke with Rhodes at the sheriff’s office and she admitted to having had sex with the young man. She was arrested.

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s office shows Rhodes is currently being held on Rape and Sexual Indecency with a Child with no bond listed.

Rhodes was arrested Sept. 17, two days after her 20th birthday.
