The DeSoto, Ponce and Granada courses were jam-packed with nearly 300 players competing in the national finals of the Executive Women’s Golf Association. Counting players, EWGA officials, volunteers, spectators and caddies, more than 400 crowded the tracks.
“This is an exciting finale for us,” said CEO Jane Garrett, “and the hospitality and organization here in Hot Springs Village has been amazing.” Scrambles were played on DeSoto and Ponce while individual play was executed at Granada.
“We have over 11,500 EWGA members across the U.S. and Canada including one in Bermuda and one in Italy. Nearly 2,000 competed to be in this tournament,” she said. This is the EWGA championship finals with only a match final scheduled for later this month in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Many players in attendance commented on the beauty of HSV, the warm reception given by local residents and the ease to arrange accommodations and transportation.
“It has been just amazing how welcome we feel and how comfortable it is to visit with people in the neighborhoods, shops and restaurants,” said NYC native, Anne Brillantes.
