Oct. 10, 1952 and a plan was being put in place to sell bonds which would finance a Clinton water system. The Lions Club volunteered to circulate the petition to area property owners, who would be asked to put up the $20 connection fee in advance, which would be held in escrow.


Oct. 13, 1960 and the Clinton City Council petitioned the Army Corp of Engineers for a public park in the Choctaw area.


May 10, 2012 and the top story was about the death of Clinton lawyer and businessman Brett Blakney after being struck by a man he was escorting from his restaurant. Blakney died later at the hospital. Coverage included the full police report as prepared by Clinton Police officer Eric Koonce.


The following week the lead story was on the county’s efforts to come up with a single-source ambulance contract.
