Alread’s Fall Festival was this past weekend, on Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Alread F.U.N. Park. Four organizations worked together to make the festival happen for the kids: ACCDA, ACRDC, the Alread EH Club, and the Alread Fire Department.
ACCDA provided food and drinks for everyone for free, ACRDC, especially Gabby Norton and Marcus Green and their family, put together and ran the haunted house in the locker room of the old Alread gym, the Alread EH Club (with the help of Erika Johnson, ACCDA, and many ladies in the community) put on the cakewalk, and the Alread Fire Department provided free games and prizes, such as a bean bag toss, etc.
Everyone had a good time, and it’s really nice to come together as a community and put together something special for the kids. At the end of this month, on Halloween night, there will be a Trunk or Treat at the Alread F.U.N. Park for the kids as well, and everyone is encouraged (though definitely not required) to decorate their vehicles/trunks for Halloween and to bring candy for the kids as they trick or treat at the park; try to be there at about 6 p.m.
