The monthly Senior Night Potluck at the Crabtree Foursquare Church, has combined November and December into one Senior Nite Holiday Potluck, Friday, Dec. 1 at 5:30 p.m. in the old sanctuary kitchen. Bring your favorite Christmas or Thanksgiving dish. Persons 55 or greater are invited.
Also at the church on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. it’s the combined Holiday Potluck in the new fellowship hall. The community is invited.
Popcorn ball makers are needed Wednesday, Dec. 13, 5 p.m. in the fellowship hall. (Sounds like a dream job to my tastebuds) These will honor church history and be given out Sunday, Dec. 17 at the 10:45 a.m. Christmas Service.
Fall’s last colors really standout now that leaf drop is around 80 percent. The vistas are longer making it easier to spot colors further away, and deer. No reports of big trophies taken this past weekend with modern gun yet but Dennis Berry says he knows of a couple big ones taken during muzzleloading season. He’s seen a lot of deer on the move and figures it could be a good season. Also he’s seen a lot of wild hog activity in multiple locations in the greater Crabtree area. He wouldn’t say that it’s more than usual, “They come and go a lot. It’s hard to tell.” But considering their high reproductive rates it’s probable.
