Unity Health- Red River Family Medicine is your home for all your medical needs from birth through your senior years. Lead by Shannon Swift M.D and Daniel Ring Physicians Assistant they provide the experience and training to not only treat everyday medical issues but can also help you manage your chronic illnesses to live a healthier life.

Dr. Swift has been serving our community since last August. She is an accomplished Dr and to accompany her M.D. Dr. Swift is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. It is this education and experience that makes our Unity Health location your home for health care for the whole family. Dr. Swift attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed her residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tenn.

Dr. Swift was inspired and introduced to the medical field by her Grandmother, herself a public health nurse in midwife in Pine Bluff. It was this exposure as a young woman and her interest in science that helped craft the path of becoming and M.D. Dr. Swift holds a degree in science to accompany her other educational accomplishments and it is this degree that helps drive and better understand her Internal Medicine certification.

Shannon Swift the citizen enjoys her new surroundings and is happy to be a local resident. With the move to Van Buren County she has quickly found the reasons that the rest of us call our area home and with the purchase of a pontoon boat she claims to see her family on a regular basis.

Daniel Ring Physician Assistant joined the Unity Health team last December and has been a great addition to the team. A physician assistant is a healthcare professional who practices medicine as a part of a healthcare team with collaborating physicians and other providers. Physician Assistants are nationally certified and state licensed to practice medicine. The educational model for Physician Assistant is based on the fast-tracked training of physicians during World War II. Physician Assistants are concerned with preventing and treating human illness and injury by providing a plethora of health care services under a supervising physician.

Daniel completed his schooling at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He has always had a desire to help others and through his education he is able to do just that on a daily basis. Daniel is new to the area but is still familiar with Van Buren County due to having family in the Shirley. Daniel is the great great grandson of Francis Marion Clark a doctor in the Shirley area that practiced through the early to mid 1900’s. If you are native to the Shirley area there is a good chance Doctor Clark delivered you or one of your ancestors.
