The Nevada Blue Jays won the conference title and earned the No. 1 seed going into the district tournament this week scheduled Feb. 15-17 hosted at Ouachita High School.

The Blue Jays wrapped up the regular season last week dominating the Taylor Tigers 51-24, but falling to Kirby Trojans 59-49 on the road. The Blue Jays finish the conference season 7-1 to clinch another consecutive title under the veteran guidance of head coach Bobby Mullins. The Blue Jays keep the plus .500 overall record at 20-7 to clinch the 20 win mark for the season.
The Blue Jays enter into district tourney competition on Friday Feb. 16 in the semifinals to face the winner of Ouachita Warriors vs. Emerson game that will be played Thursday Feb.15. The boys district finals is set Saturday Feb.17 at 7:30 p.m.

BLUE JAYS 51, TAYLOR 27
In the Blue Jays road win over Taylor, Nevada jumped out to the early and dominant advantage 20-6 to end first quarter play. Then in the second, the Blue Jays added six points scored withTaylor dropping 10 points in the period. At halftime, Nevada led Taylor 26-16. In the second half, the Blue never surrendered their lead outscoring Taylor 11-0 in third quarter for an 37-16 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. The Blue Jays posted 14 points on the scoreboard with Taylor adding eight points as Nevada went onto sweep the series match-up to secure the 27-point win.
For the game, Blue Jays' Keynonte Coleman led scoring with 13 points and Brandon Gulley followed with 10 points for double-figures with Bralon Glover contributing nine points.
