Centerville News
by Jennifer Freeman

What a crowd last Sunday at our monthly fellowship brunch. There were several families out but you couldn’t tell it when you looked at all the food on our serving table. I love to hear the chatter as our CUMC family visits and shares stories from the community. Jasper and Cody even went out and picked flowers when they finished eating and passed them out to the ladies.

The ladies of Centerville traveled to East End on Friday night to attend the IF Gathering at East End. Jennifer Freeman, Denise Flake, Lana Gartner, Stephanie Strain, and Christa Ward attended and stayed the night with Christa on Friday night. We might not have gotten a lot of sleep, but we came home feeling pumped about our relationship with God and reminded that the little things we do to serve are important.

The Double Barrel Band featuring Ed Lybarger, Tommy Lynn Browning, Keith Gresham, Roger Brooks, and David Gardner played at the Faulkner County Senior Citizens Center last Friday night and will again play on March 16th, from 6:30-9:00 p.m. Also, line dance lessons are offered at the Greenbrier Event Center on Tuesday afternoons, from 4:30-5:30, and you just pay $5.00 when you attend. You can get a little exercise and hang out with some pretty cool folks.

Sunshine has the flowers blooming and trees budding in the community. Folks are getting out of the house and looking forward to spring, teachers and kids are looking forward to spring break, and summer will be here before you know it. Remember to see God and his blessings in all you do and be kind to those you encounter. It is easy to get distracted by all the stress of life and forget that each day is a gift as tomorrow is not promised.

Spring is coming soon! The ground is so soft from the rain!

Congratulations to the Guy Perkins thunderbirds Senior boys team for winning Regional. Wishing them the best of luck and hope next week to congratulate them again! I watched them play with dignity, integrity and most of all great sportsmanship.

As always, please keep the following in your prayers: Clark and Linda Stevenson, he is home now. He has good days and bad days. It is not easy being a caregiver it takes a toll on them too. Darrel and Bessie Bearden, Ann Mode, Robbie Mode Ward and any one else that is sick or taking care of someone or that has been in the hospital.

We live in A great community that supports the town, school, and takes care of their own!

Congratulations to the newly weds Gary Burdin and Monta Fortner. Wishing you many happy years together!

I had a Friday night date with two handsome men; my son Jerry Dowdy and Grandson Landon we went to the ballgame Friday night at Morrilton. We had a great time! We got to see lots of people we haven’t seen in a long time!
