The Primary Run-off for Senate District 16 is Tuesday beginning at 6:30 a.m. with polls open until 6:30 p.m. The same day ACRDC Board Meeting is at 5:30 p.m. in the Alread EH Clubhouse. And at 6 p.m. it’s Prayer Night in the Crabtree Foursquare Church.

Coming up March 24 “A Meet & Greet the Candidates” will be held at the Crabtree Foursquare Church. The event kicks off at 4:30 p.m. with a “Soup & Chili Cook-off Fundraiser.” Anyone can enter the competition. A “Smack Your Lips” Pie Auction follows.
Talked to Virgil Dean Lemings on Friday. He was in a very good mood but lamented about his homely face. I assured him it wasn’t all that bad but he remained unconvinced. Maybe someone else can cheer him up on this subject.
Spring Equinox is Tuesday, March 20 at 11:15 a.m. and marks the first day of Spring, astronomically, in the northern hemisphere. It also marks the beginning of the 16 West Beautification Project “Spring Edition.” We will be on the lookout for beautiful flowers and planting in yards and gardens along 16 West and announce the winners in June.
Some say crocus blooming is the cue to plant radishes, parsnips and spinach. They are blooming so go-go-go. And while frost possibilities continue into April there are many other possible cool weather seeds to be planted and transplants are available at stores. Yippee, the garden season begins!
And finally, the March full moon is sometimes called “The Full Worm Moon” since this month earthworms begin to emerge from the earth. “Now where are my fishing poles?” Enjoy it!
