Every week there is the exercise program at the Alread EH Club. The low-impact strengthening classes are always free and meet 9-10:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
This Friday, April 13, there will be a work day at the Alread school grounds. Bring a sack lunch with you and enjoy helping your community out. Bottled water will be provided and work will begin at 10:30 that morning.
We will be celebrating Earth Day in Alread! Everyone is encouraged to clean up roads on Friday, April 20, near their homes or wherever they would like to help out. There is no set time for road clean-up; just whenever you can. Then there will be a clean-up day at the Alread F.U.N. Park on Saturday, April 21, where we’ll clean up the park and plant flowers, etc. Afterwards, we’ll have a potluck. The park clean-up on Saturday will begin at 9 a.m. and the potluck will be about noon.
On Saturday, April 28, the annual candidates forum and pie auction will be held at the Alread EH Club building. The doors will open at five and a light supper will be served at 5:30 p.m. The meal is free, though donations are always accepted gratefully. Afterwards all of the candidates will have a chance to speak and then there will be a pie auction. All proceeds from the event will go to the EH J.D. Puddy Scholarship, which benefits college students from the Alread area.
From 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, there will be a fish fry courtesy of the Sandy Watson family and ACCDA at the Alread F.U.N. Park and everyone is welcome!
