Ben Geren Golf Course has enjoyed a second month in a row of taking in more revenue than it has in previous months.

Paul Wanstreet, Ben Geren Golf Course marketer/Pro Shop manager, told the Sebastian County Parks Advisory Board during its meeting Monday the golf course had a strong June. According to a copy of the 2018 golf course revenue/budget plan that was provided in the meeting packet, the course took in over $64,000 during that month. This surpassed the amount the golf course brought in during June 2017 by almost $200.

"All in all, it was a decent month, ... and I will tell you that July looks extremely encouraging," Wanstreet said. "We are off to a very strong first eight days to the month of July."

June followed what Wanstreet described as the golf course's "best revenue month in the past three years." During this past May, the golf course took in over $75,000 in revenue compared to the over $70,000 it took in during May 2017.

However, the revenue/budget plan states the golf course is still behind in its year to date totals for revenue when compared to 2017. With the previous six months combined, the golf course's year-to-date total revenue for 2018 is an amount of more than $316,000. The year-to-date total revenue for the same period in 2017 was over $327,000, leaving a gap of over $11,000 between the two totals.
