Charges filed against a former Clinton furniture store employee have been dismissed.
Donna Sue Williams, 44, was charged in September 2011 with five felony counts of theft of property. She was employed by James and Patricia Eoff at Eoff’s Furniture store when the alleged thefts occurred from 2008 through 2010.
20th Judicial Prosecuting Attorney Cody Hiland told the Democrat Monday that the charges were nolle prosequi — or dismissed — in August at the request of the Eoffs.
"Because it was a theft case it can be dropped at the victim’s request," Hiland said.
Eoff’s Furniture store closed in 2011. The family-owned store was in business in Clinton for 75 years.
