A Clinton man was participating in the Boston Marathon and had already completed the race course by the time two explosions rocked the finish line Monday afternoon.

James L. Bresette, 52, finished the race in two hours and 46 minutes, crossing the finish line at 12:46 p.m. Boston time, according to the Boston Marathon website. Just before 3 p.m., two explosions could be heard near the finish line at Copley Square. Boston Police have confirmed two deaths and 23 injuries on their Twitter feed.

Contact had not been made with Bresette or his family Monday afternoon.

The nature of the explosions was not immediately known.

No other Van Buren County residents were listed on the Boston Marathon website’s list of participants. A total of 37 Arkansans were participating in the race.
