A 42-year-old Clinton man was charged last week with 41 felony counts of possession of child pornography, according to 20th Judicial Prosecuting Attorney Cody Hiland.

Nicholas Anthony Derose, according to court documents, has admitted to also producing child pornography.

The prosecutor’s affidavit filed by Hiland in Van Buren County Circuit Court states reasonable cause for Derose’s arrest warrant was obtained by investigators with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations and assisting


The affidavit states that a search warrant was executed at Derose’s 410 Glacer Road address on Jan. 27 by federal agents, the U.S. Secret Service, Arkansas State Police and the Van Buren County sheriff’s office. Derose admitted to law enforcement agents that he had video of child pornography and that he distributed images of child pornography on the Internet, according to the affidavit.

The exact number of images of child pornography Derose has produced is not known, the documents state, but "the known images at this time are approximately 41 and are expected to be significantly higher upon the conclusion of the investigation."

Bond for Derose was set at $250,000 bond. He was still at the Van Buren County Detention Center Tuesday afternoon.

Arraignment is set for Feb. 10.
