The three school districts in Van Buren County are getting ready for the first day of the 2014-15 school year. Classes for all three schools begin on Monday, Aug. 8.
Clinton School District
School begins at 7:55 a.m. for all schools. Dismissal time for Elementary/Intermediate car riders will be 3:05 p.m. and bus
riders will dismiss at 3:15 p.m. Dismissal time for Clinton junior and senior high schools will be 3:25 p.m.
Seventh-grade orientation/open house has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at the high school cafeteria.
Tenth-grade orientation for parents has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, in the high school library.

Students in grades K-6 who have not previously attended Clinton Schools will need to register at the principal’s office Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. beginning Aug. 4.
Students in grades 7-9 will register and pick up schedules in counselor Brandy Alexander’s office in the Junior High School building.
Students in grades 10-12 will come to the high school office to register and pick up schedules. Note your date and time by finding the first letter of your last name.
Grades 9 and 12: Tuesday, Aug. 12, A-M 8:30-11:30 a.m.; N-Z 12:30-3:30 p.m.
Grades 8 and 11: Wednesday, Aug. 13, A-M 8:30-11:30 a.m.; N-Z 12:30-3:30 p.m.
Grade 7: Thursday, Aug. 14, A-M 8:30-11:30 a.m.; N-Z 12:30-3:30 p.m.
Grade 10: Thursday, Aug. 14, A-Z 4-6 p.m.
Shirley School District
School starts at 8 a.m. for High School and Elementary. Dismissal will be at 3:10 p.m. for High School and 3:05 for Elementary. High School students will meet in the auditorium and elementary students will meet in their classrooms.
Orientation and open house for grades K-12 will be 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12. New students may register at the Elementary or High School office from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Thursday beginning Aug. 5.

South Side-Bee Branch School District
Registration for the 2014-15 school year at South Side is:
Grades 7, 8, 9: 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 4
Grades 10, 11, 12: 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 5
New students will register from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 6
Students will purchase lockers and parking permits at this time. Locker cost is $3 and parking permits are $5. All students driving to school must register their vehicles with the office by providing auto registration, proof of insurance and drivers license.
Seventh-grade students need to bring their birth certificate, Social Security card and current shot record during registration.
All new students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and bring the following: birth certificate, Social Security card, current shot record, academic records, address of previous school, proof of current mailing address and phone number.
Classes begin at 7:52 a.m.
Senior pictures will be Aug. 6.
Sport physicals for the boys will be 1-4 p.m. Aug. 12 and girls’ physicals will be 1-4 p.m. Aug. 14. Forms are available in the office.
Open house will be 7 p.m. Aug. 14. All parents are invited to attend and meet their child’s teacher.
