The Clinton Volunteer Fire Department works Tuesday to control flames at a house on Thomas Street. Neighbors reported hearing a loud noise and smelled smoke. They reported the fire at 8:21 a.m. Firefighters were on the scene by 8:23 a.m. In total, 13 Clinton firefighters and four trucks responded. Lightning may have sparked the fire, which caused heavy damage to the older house, though the cause was not determined. Resident Andy Price was not home when the fire started. No one was injured.
