Clinton received $96,172 in revenue from its 1 percent sales tax, collected in June and reported in July.

Shirley received $2,703 from its 1 percent tax, and Fairfield Bay got $22,227 from its 1.5 percent sales tax.

Year-ago figures were: Clinton, $85,853; Shirley, $3,000; and Fairfield Bay, $22,132.

Van Buren County has two 1 percent sales taxes, one for general revenue and one dedicated to construction bonds for the hospital.

The general revenue tax is divided among the county and its four incorporated towns based on population. Those figures for the same period are: Van Buren County, $278,367 (includes both taxes); Clinton, $24,727; Damascus, $2,376; Fairfield Bay, $20,479; and Shirley, $2,765.

Those numbers a year ago were: Van Buren County, $249,527; Clinton, $22,165; Damascus, $2,130; Fairfield Bay, $18,358; and Shirley, $2,479.
