The Van Buren County recycling center held a "ribbon-cutting" last Friday to highlight new bins it has received for its collection point.

Daniel Cullum, Van Buren County Solid Waste/Recycle Department supervisor, cut the "ribbon," which had examples of what the bins can take, including different kinds of plastics and corrugated cardboard.

The concrete slab, retaining wall and bins were purchased with an 80/20 grant from White River Regional Solid Waste Management District.

The site places the new bins at parking lot level and on a solid surface providing greater access for recycle material drop-offs.
