Rosemary Looney passed away June 8, 2018, in Fort Smith. She was born July 7, 1926, in the Camp Chaffee area to Herchell and Dessa Davis Moore. She graduated from Mansfield High School and became a Western Union operator managing Western Union in Paris for seven years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Charleston where she taught Sunday school class for 62 years. She married Afton Looney, who preceded her. They were married for 67 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Wanda Watts; a brother, Roger Neil Moore; one daughter, Linda Neissl; and one son, Rodney Looney.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Gary Looney and wife Pasty; son-in-law, Bobby Niessl; one sister, Arlene O’Neel; two brothers, Truman Moore and Don Moore; six grandchildren, Melissa Neissl Bruce, Jason Looney, Jennifer Brown, Matt Neissl, Cara Lantrip and James Looney; eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. today at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston with burial to follow at the Garden of Memories under the direction of Smith Mortuary Charleston.

The family will receive friends from 9:15 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
