Carol Theresa Coleman, 58, of Lavaca died Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, in a local hospital. She was born March 23, 1960, in Holyoke, Mass., to Frederick and Anna (Pueschel) Bettro. She was an office manager for Medical Clinics and a U.S. Army veteran. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ruth Craig; and her brother, Fred Bettro.

Carol is survived by one daughter, Emily Anna Rhudy and her husband Brandon of Lavaca; one son, Phillip Coleman and his wife Missy of Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Cooper Coleman and Lexi and Caroline Rhudy; one sister, Mary Williams and her husband Will of Oklahoma City; one brother, Joseph Bettro and his wife Sheila of Lemonster, Mass.; her companion, Paul Coleman of Fort Smith; and her lifelong friend, Karen Tounzen of Van Buren.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial with military honors at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service.
