Archie Carl Rice, 71, of Bee Branch, Ark., passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013. He was born Dec. 12, 1941, at Morganton, Ark., to the late Archie Carl Rice Sr. and Ruby Nadine (Holmes) Rice.

He attended South Side School, Bee Branch, Ark. His career as a truck driver began many years ago, spending his last years working for ABF Trucking as a road driver before retiring in 2003. He was well-known as “Scrubbie,” that was his CB handle. He enjoyed agitating his friends just to see what their reaction would be, it was his way of making friendships. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepdad, grandparents, and beloved mother-in-law. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Bivian Rice of the home; two stepchildren, Renaa Taber of the home, and Paul and Karen Taber of Center Ridge, Ark.; two grandsons, Brandon and Andrew Taber, both of Center Ridge, Ark.; one adopted son and grandson, Timothy Casey Rice of the home; and many friends.

Pallbearers will be his many Masonic Lodge Brothers. Visitation was noon and funeral service 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel, Clinton, Ark., with Rev. Bobby Minick officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites was at Pine Mountain Cemetery, Bee Branch. A scholarship fund for Timothy Casey Rice has been set up at Simmons First National Bank, P.O.
