Elmer Napier, age 81, of Shirley, Ark., passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, in Shirley. He was born May 15, 1931, in Hazard, Ky., to William and Delphia (Vincent) Napier. He was married to Delores (McGahhey) Napier for 16 years. He was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Shirley, was a carpenter all his life, played and sung in a Bluegrass band, and was a great cook.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Randy Napier and Steve Napier; stepson Tony (Shawna) Bell; grandson Nicholos Napier; step-grandson Torey Bell; and two sisters, Oma Standridge and Maudie Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Lawerence, Leon, Herbert, Oscar and Otis Napier; and two sisters, Bonnie Stewart and Deli Couch.

Pallbearers: Bob Stewart, Elmer Stewart, Leo Stewart, Larry Napier, Rick Standridge and Weldon Thomas. Honorary pallbearers: Dale Lynch, Willie Couch, Russ Williams and Clovis Bradford.

Visitation was 1 p.m. and funeral service was 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel, Clinton, Ark., with Pastor Ester Bass officiating.
