Erma Olevia Moody, 91, of Harrison, Ark., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 10, 2013, in Bentonville, Ark. She was born June 19, 1921, in Shirley, Ark., to James Porter Cummans and Lucy Williams Cummans.
She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed making quilts, baking sweets, and gardening. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. She was a faithful member of Eagle Heights Baptist Church and looked forward to the “Joy” Sunday school class each week.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse M. Moody; son, Jimmie Moody; and three brothers, Vernon, John and Edward Don Cummans. Erma is survived by one son, Elvis Moody and wife, Jan, of Bentonville; one daughter, Rita Huff and husband, Coy, of Osage, Ark.; one sister, Wilma Welsh, of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Greg Moody and wife Heidi, Chris Moody and wife Nancy, Shane Huff and wife Lisa, Mechelle Glass, Amy Kopp and husband Gregg; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Eagle Heights Baptist Church in Harrison with Pastors Jay Scribner and Glenn Crenshaw officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to North Arkansas Baptist Foundation, P.O. Box 1213 Harrison, AR 72602. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services. Words of comfort may be expressed or memories shared at
