Mary N. Churches-Smith, 72, of Clinton, went to her heavenly home on March 5, 2013, while sleeping peacefully. She was born Jan. 26, 1941, in Kilgore, Texas, to Richard George and Nellie Pauline Forrester.
When she was 5 the family relocated to Southern California. Mary moved to the Ozarks in 1982 with five of her six children, which is where she met her love of 30 years, Edward Smith.
Most of her adult life she held the position of homemaker, but did at times work at the hospital. She later earned her GED and became a beautician. She enjoyed horseback riding, raising and showing Australian shepherds, crocheting, shopping, and eating out. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, and son Jason Churches. She is survived by Eddie Smith of Clinton; children of Eugene Churches, Barbara (Rick) Carrington of Hensley, Mike (Lisa) of Greenbrier, Bobby of Clinton, Andy, and Randy of Clinton; grandchildren, Alex, Katie, Brittany, Ashley, Michael, Eric, Jacob, Jesse, Andrew, Jay Landon and other family and friends.
Mary was loved and will be missed by many.
Funeral services were held at Roller McNutt Funeral Home, Clinton, Ark., at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013. Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Clinton, Ark.
