Helen Story

Helen Dale Story, 86, of Clinton, Ark., went home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, June 17, 2013. She was born Feb. 11, 1927, in Clinton to the late Franklin Faith and Mattie (Elders) Stripling.

Before her decline from Alzheimers she was an active member of the Garden Club, Home Extension Club, Woodman of the World, Cattlemans Association, Van Buren County Historical Society, and Van Buren County Republican Party. She sang with the Amen Group and The Harmony Mountain Quartet. Helen was a faithful member of the Formosa Church of Christ.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 36 years, Virgil Story; two brothers, Clarence and Olen Stripling; two sisters, Essie Aschliman and Arizona Mills.

She was the loving mother of two daughters, Jo Jo Mills of Conway, Ark., and Rhonda Spann (Tado) of Oak Grove, La. She leaves four grandkids, Stephanie Gannaway, Kristy Spann, Shane Spann and Slade Spann; and seven great-grandkids, Emmerson Spann, Sophia Spann, Madalyn Spann, Grayson Gannaway, Gabrielle Gannaway, Reed Spann and Tessa Spann.

She will be missed by a host of family members, friends, neighbors, and her devoted care-givers Wauneta Smith and Jean Bell.

Pallbearers: Brad Gannaway, Dr. Michael Spann, Shane Spann, Slade Spann, Mark Story and Bruce Williams. Visitation was Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service was 10 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, at Clinton Church of Christ with Bro. Stan Smith officiating. Burial was at Quattlebaum Cemetery. Marzell Graham

Marzelle Jean Graham, 81, of Damascus, Ark., went to be with the Lord, joining her daughter Karen in heaven who had been waiting seven years for her mother, Friday, June 21, 2013. She was born Sept. 5, 1931, at Damascus to the late Ellis and Verlie (Fleming) Hutto.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Verlie Hutto; three brothers and two sister-in-laws on the Hutto side, Arvil, Clell, Adron, Lodean and Sharon. also Graham family members Tommy and Ruby Graham.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Cecil K. Graham; her dog Little Bit also known as her baby; a very special sister Ann Hutto; two brothers, Bill Hutto (Cloetta) and James Hutto (Lavina); sister-in-law Lorretta Whilloby Hutto; children of Arvil and Lodean Hutto, a very special niece Vicki Hutto, Donna Hall, Greg Hutto (Debbie), Chris Hutto (Leah); children of James Hutto (Lavina ) Randy Hutto (Shane), Doug Hutto (Lori); child of Bill Hutto (Cloetta) Bobby Hutto (Robin); child of Adron Hutto (Sharon) Susie Hutto; several great nieces and nephews, Cody Watkins (Tiffany) Kayson, Lindsey Parish (Jared) Hannah and Sarah, Courtney Watkins Brittany, Abby Codi, Hunter, Courtney, Katie, Maggie, Sierra, Lilly, Holly, Jacob, Nathan, Ashley Manning (Richard) Kaitlin, Bethany, Amanda McAlease (Bernie) Elijah; family of Ernest and Dolphie Graham; Jimmy Ferrell and Karen Edward and Paulette Graham; child of Ernest Graham Ernestine Smart; children of Joe Graham and Betty Graham McDonald; Virginia, Stanley, Nancy and Danny;a very special friend Donna Turner.

Visitation was Sunday, June 23, 2013, and funeral service was 10 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel Clinton, Ark., with Pastor James Hutto officiating. Richard Daye

Richard James Daye, age 64, of Clinton, Ark., formerly of Mountain Home, Ark., passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013, near Marshall, Ark. He was born March 1, 1949, in Chicago, Ill., to Eugene Ignatius and Laura June Karris Daye.

He moved to Mountain Home in 1964 from Chicago. Mr. Daye was a graduate of Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Ark., and was a music teacher and band director with the Clinton Public Schools. He lived in Clinton for over 16 years and was a member and the organist at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Clinton. He was a member of the Arkansas Tech Alumni Association and enjoyed arrowhead collecting, kayaking and archaeology. He loved and respected the earth and always came to his family’s home in Mountain Home each Friday evening for "Family Night," playing cards and Yahtzee.

Survivors are his father Eugene Daye; one brother, Jeffrey (Janice) Daye; two sisters, Maureen (Tom) Daye and Karen Daye, all of Mountain Home; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Jean Marie Daye.

Private graveside services will be at Baxter Memorial Gardens. A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Mountain Home with Rev. Christopher Okeke as celebrant. The family will receive friends at a luncheon in St. Peter’s Parish Hall following the Mass. Memorials may be made to the Clinton Public School Music Program.
