The Vian Wolverines used a strong defensive game to now put themselves one more win away from a trip to the 3A State Tournament.

Vian held Hartshorne to two points in two different quarters, including the all-important fourth quarter, as the Wolverines edged the Miners, 29-26, in the 3A Area IV consolation round Friday at Checotah.

The Wolverines will now play in today's 3A Area IV consolation title game at 8 p.m., and with a win will go to next week's 3A State Tournament.

Vian trailed 24-23 entering the fourth before outscoring Hartshorne, 6-2, the rest of the way for the win.

Kaleb Glass finished with seven points for Vian. Javier Ramos added six points, both coming on two 3-point baskets.

Holland Hall 61, Pocola 37

GIRLS — The Lady Indians' season came to an end in Friday's 3A Area II consolation round in Tulsa.

Pocola (21-7) trailed 29-16 at halftime before getting to within four midway through the third, 31-27, on a 3-pointer from senior Morgan Francis. But Holland Hall ended the quarter on an 11-2 run and continued to pull away in the fourth.

Francis, playing her final game for the Lady Indians, had 10 points. Shakyrah Gladness and Kena Chitwood each added eight points.

Hugo 45, Heavener 31

GIRLS — Hugo ended the Lady Wolves' season in Friday's 3A Area IV consolation round at Checotah.

Makenzie Wilson had 13 points and Sydney Crase added nine for Heavener (14-14).
