With two outs in the top of the fourth, Fort Smith Sportsman received a wake-up call against their AA city counterparts.

Forsgren scored three runs all with two outs in that inning to take a 3-1 lead.

But in the bottom half of the fourth, also with two outs, Sportsman responded.

They scored six runs in that inning to go in front to stay, and Sportsman went on to a 13-3 win in Wednesday's American Legion game at Hunts Park.

Sportsman (20-6) began the pivotal bottom of the fourth by getting their first two batters on base. Forsgren (15-13) appeared to catch a break when the next batter, Brock Thibodeaux, hit a fly ball that was caught in shallow center by Jackson Webb, who then immediately threw to second to double off the lead runner.

But Sportsman's Cody Smith then reached base on a dropped third strike. Ben Klutts came up and hit a double to right center which brought in two runs, tying the score at 3-all.

Then the next hitter, Ethan Rauser, untied the score with an RBI single into right.

Sportsman continued its pivotal inning by adding to their lead.

Jackson Scrivner hit a booming shot to right which went over the fence for a ground-rule double, bringing home another run.

After Ryan Daggs worked a walk, Bradlee Chronister capped things off by hitting a two-run double to right to make it 7-3 in Sportsman's favor.

Klutts continued to have a big night in Sportsman's half of the sixth, when he drove in two more runs with a double for a 9-3 advantage.

That hit began another six-run inning for Sportsman, which was capped by Daggs' three-RBI home run into the corner in shallow left.

For the game, Klutts went 3-for-3 with two doubles and five RBIs. He gave Sportsman a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a two-out RBI single.

It remained 1-0 until the top of the fourth, when Forsgren went in front with its three runs, all with two outs. Hunter Taylor tied the score on a passed ball; then Landon Chaffin made it 3-1 with a two-RBI double to right.

Rey Lozano, the third of five pitchers for Sportsman, went two innings in relief to get the win. Lozano also struck out four batters.

For the game, Forsgren was held to three hits.
