The Clinton Yellow Jackets have won the Adidas Consolation Bracket of the 2014 OrthoSurgeons Shootout of the South.
The Jackets defeated Hot Springs Lakeside, 32-21, for the title.
Overall, Pulaski Academy won the championship, defeating Fayetteville in the finals, 30-28.
The two-day event was held last weekend.
In other Yellow Jacket football news, the team has been picked by coaches to finish third in the 4-4A division this season, according to the 22nd annual Hooten’s Arkansas Football Magazine.
The 448-page book picks the Arkansas Razorbacks to finish seventh in the SEC Western Division and ranks the Hogs 59th nationally.
Auburn is tabbed to win the SEC West, followed by Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Arkansas. South Carolina is picked to win the SEC Eastern Division, followed by Georgia, Missouri, Florida, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Kentucky.
Arkansas State is ranked second in the Sun Belt and 64th nationally.
The Florida State Seminoles are Hooten’s preseason No. 1 team, followed by Auburn, Oregon, Alabama and Stanford.
Hooten’s high school favorites to win it all in 2014 are Bentonville in Class 7A, Greenwood in Class 6A, Wynne in Class 5A, Warren in Class 4A, Booneville in Class 3A and Junction City in Class 2A.
