Filing for county and township offices in the Republican primary will begin at noon Feb. 22 and end noon March 1, according to the Sebastian County Republican Committee.

Anyone who wishes to run for county office in the May 22 Republican primary should be prepared to file by paying the filing fee for the office sought and signing the documents required by law and Republican Party rules. The filing will then be completed with the office of the Sebastian County Clerk, according to a news release.

Candidates have two options when filing. They may file with the Republican Party by calling Jonelle Fulmer, a member of the County Republican Committee, at (479) 719-3266. Fulmer will be at the Sebastian County Courthouse from noon to 3 p.m. Feb. 22 to assist candidates with forms and to collect the filing fee. Candidates also may file by special appointment with Gunner DeLay, chair of the Sebastian County Republican Committee, by calling (479) 783-0467, Rex Terry at (479) 452-2200, or by calling Fulmer.
