The Arkansas Department of Health reminds that free flu shots are still available at local health units. The flu shots are provided at no cost to patients, regardless of their insurance status. A flu shot remains the best protection from infection - especially important this year as infections have been so high.
Those at higher risk for flu include: Children aged two years old and younger, adults aged 65 years and older, pregnant women, or women up to two weeks after delivering a child, people with a suppressed immune system, people with chronic health problems, like asthma, diabetes, cancer and heart disease and residents of nursing homes or other chronic care facilities.
The Van Buren County local health unit is at 526 Quality Dr, Clinton, 501-745-2485
