Fostering healthy habits in young children influences their health as an adult. Teaching children to choose healthy foods empowers them to make better choices and encourages them to eat new, healthy things instead of high sugar, high fat foods. Torrie Caston, County Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences provides children and adults with this education. She has curriculum for every age and provides these services for free to all SNAP-Ed eligible facilities. Programs include lessons on picking better snacks, cooking schools, Organ Wise Guys, and a lot more. All schools in Van Buren County are SNAP-Ed eligible. Contact Torrie Caston at 501-745-7117 or at tcaston@uaex.edu for more information. The Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service is an equal opportunity/equal access/affirmative action institution
