Alfred Eugene “Gene” Whitson 73, of Bee Branch, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019. Gene was born April 15, 1945 to Wilburn and Dorothy Whitson of Marvell, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by both parents and granddaughter, Amber Havens.
Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, brother and friend to many. He was retired but always loved doing side jobs. He worked for years farming and for John Deere hauling equipment. He was also Mr. Gerald Ray Brock and Mr. Steve Leonard’s right- hand man any time of day. Gene loved to dance and listen to country music he also enjoyed going to flea markets and sales. He was always wheeling and dealing. Gene loved to go camping and hunting with the brothers and his expertise was cooking at camp. If anyone knew Gene, they knew he loved his diet Mt. Dew and sweets.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Claudette Whitson of Conway, son, DeWayne and wife Laurie Wheeler of Gulf Breeze, Flordia, daughter, Pansy and husband Stacy Hodges of Grenada, Mississippi, grandchildren; Tyler and Stephanie Wheeler and their children; Levi, Grace, and Madison of Stanley, North Dakota, Garrett Wheeler of Tallahassee, Florida, Courtney Johnson of Little Rock, Arkansas, Hunter Knuckles of Poplar Grove, Arkansas, Patrick and wife Kristy of Van Buren, Arkansas, Jessie Maguire of Van Buren, Arkansas, sisters; Anne Polk of Adairsville, Kentucky, Sandra Doles of Mayflower, Arkansas, Rosalee and Pat George of Cleveland, Mississippi, Shannon and Allen Dillinger of Marvell, Arkansas, Deborah and Joe Odle of Aubrey, Arkansas, brothers; Johnny and Julia Whitson of Quitman, Arkansas, Wayne and Debbie Whitson of Brinkley, Arkansas, Rocky and Connie Whitson of Vilonia, Arkansas, Jeff and Ann Whitson of Vilonia, Arkansas, Tony Whitson of Quitman, Arkansas, Jody Whitson of Marvell, Arkansas.
Visitation and Funeral services will be 11 a.m. – noon, Saturday, March 2, at Roller- McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral services at noon. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Concord, Arkansas.
