OZARK — William "Dee" D. Gober, 93, of Ozark died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, in Ozark. He was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Star City. He was a rancher, a county sheriff and Arkansas Highway Police officer, principle and superintendent of Prattsville schools, a teacher and coach at Lavaca School, a Navy veteran, a member of First Baptist Church of Ozark, where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher, Gideons International, Arkansas Cattleman’s Association, Farm Bureau and Arkansas Retired Teachers Association and the widower of Mary Gober.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Ozark with burial at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark.

He is survived by two daughters, Mary Thompson of Ozark and Alice Bullington of Altus; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Thompson and Boone and Blake Bullington.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
